CORRECT PLACINGS H. AND J. SMITH’S BARGAIN COMPETITION. LARGE ENTRIES RECEIVED. A short ceremony of interest ■to many thousands of people throughout Southland and Otago took place yesterday afternoon in Mr J. W. Smith’s office. The sealed envelope containing the correct placing of the items in 11. and J. Smith’s Bargain Competition was opened by Mr R. J. Gilmour, Managing Director of the Southland Times, who announced the correct order as follows:— Ist. E; 2nd. II; 3rd. D; 4th. F; sth. I; 6th. C; 7th. G; Bth. A; 9th. J; 10th. B. Many thousands of entries were received and a special staff has set to work to check these. The list of prize winners will be published in H. and J. Smith’s advertisement on Thursday. “We are delighted at the interest shown in our Competition,” said Mr Smith. “Many people complimented us upon out values, saying there is nothing to equal them in the territory. At the present moment we are finalizing preparations for a gigantic distribution of £2OO worth of Free Gifts to our customers. Full particulars will be published in our advertisement.”—Advt.
