LAND BOARD
THURSDAY’S MEETING. A meeting of the Land Board was held on Thursday. Present, the Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr J. Macdonald) in the chair, and Messrs J. Hargest, L. A. Niederer and Wm. Hamilton. Correspondence. F. Barrett applied for a license over Secs. 60, 61 and 63 Blk II Waikawa S.D. comprising a total area of lac Or lOp.—Resolved that temporary right over the three sections be granted at a rental of £1 per annum. The Ohai School Committee submitter! a revised application for a license over Part Sec. 20 Blk 111 Wairio S.D.—Resolved that the resolution of May 21, 1931 be re scinded and that tenancy at will be granted over the area now applied for in terms ot Section 5 of the Public Bodies Leases Act 1908 at an annual rental of 2/6. Frederick Smith applied for a temporary right over an area of approximately 2 roods in Block VII Longwood District.—Resolved that temporary right be granted at 5/- per annum. J. H. Campbell applied to surrender an area at the southeast corner of Sec. 7 Blk VIII Wyndham District held by him under Education Reserve lease and A. E. Whyte applied for a temporary license over the said area. —Resolved to accept surrender of area in question and that a temporary right be granted to A. E. Whyte at a rental of £1 per annum. Field Inspector Keppel submitted a report on area held under temporary license by Albert Zwies being Island opp. Secs. 15 and 16 Blk. IV Winton Hd.—Resolved that rental be reduced to £2 per annum as from 15/12/30.
Charles Ryan applied for an area of 30 acres of Part Sec. 206 Blk. XII Oreti Hd. —Granted subject to the consent of the Minister in terms of Section 148 of The Land Act, 1924 at the price of £1 per acre plus cost of survey. The board was asked to consider the question of re-offering Sec. 9 Blk. XXII Jacobs River Hd.—Resolved that section be re-offered for selection on the optional system at a capital value of £440 weighted with £7O for improvements, this amo’unt to be paid in cash or to be secured by mortgage to the State Advances Department for 30 years at 6 per <. . \ Messrs Thomson & McKenzie applied for twelve months extension of time to cut the timber on sawmill area 667 being part of Sec. 7 Blk. IV Aparima Hd. 73 acres, owing to slackness in the demand for beech.—Resolved to recommend for approval of Hon. Minister of Lands that term be extended to August 20, 1932, free of ground rental. Transfers. Lot 1 Pt. Sec. 2 Blk. XIV Town of Lumsden 20 perches. George Frederick Martin as Exor. to Elizabeth Reidy.—Approved. Run 207 Hokonui S.D., 2773 acres. William Philpott to William Gray, Menlove. —Approved.
