STATIONMASTER LOSES LEG. (Per United Press Association.) Greymouth, June 14. An accident resulting in the loss of his leg befell Percival F. F. Chambers, aged 38, stationmaster, Runanga, when changing tablets for the 2.6 p.m. mixed train proceeding from Dunollie to Greymouth yesterday. Chambers slipped over the edge of the Runanga station platform, the wheels of the train passing over his leg. He was removed in a serious condition to the Grey Hospital where his leg was amputated. His condition remains serious. INJURED MAN SUCCUMBS. Timaru, June 13. H. A. Glasson, warehouseman, New Brighton, Christchurch, who was seriously injured in a collision with a train at Washdyke on Wednesday, died in hospital today, never having regained consciousness. BURNT IN BACH. Christchurch, June 14. William Carlile Graham, aged 78, met his death when the bach he occupied at North Brighton was destroyed by fire this morning. There were indications that he had endeavoured to get out of his bedroom, but had been overcome by smoke. At the inquest a verdict was returned that death was due to burns.
