GENERAL ELECTION

AUCKLAND SUBURBS SEAT. SIR JAMES PARR APPROACHED. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, May 3. A petition bearing 500 names has been presented to Sir James Parr urging him, in the interests of the Reform Party, to contest the Auckland Suburbs seat at the next general election. A reply is to be given in a week. Sir James Parr said he had not anticipated the request. Since his return from England he had been busy with private business affairs and had given little attention to politics. He was still as keen as ever to see New Zealand well governed and anything he could do to further that end he would do with all his power.
