EARL OF BESSBOROUGH SWORN IN. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Halifax, (Novia Scotia), April 4. The Earl of Bessborough was sworn in as Governor-General of Canada to-day, and he and the Countess are leaving later for Ottawa. The Prime Minister, Mr R. B. Bennett, and thirteen Ministers attended in addition to representatives from all parts of Canadian life. The ceremony was accompanied by a booming of guns and a colourful display.
