RUNNING AND CYCLING. HANDICAPS DECLARED. The Invercargill Cycling Club, in conjunction with the Amateur Athletic Club, is holding an evening sports meeting tonight. A large and varied programme has been arranged, and as all the athletes and cyclists are tuning up preparatory to the big meetings in the New Year, some good contests may be anticipated. An added interest lies in the fact that field events, namely javelin and discus throwing and shot putting, are for the first time featured on the programme. There are exceptionally large fields in the cycling events, and now that R. Barrett, the local crack, is back to form, some great racing will be seen. The handicaps are as follows:— Javelin Throw—B.
