Mr A. J. Deaker leaves by the express this morning for Dunedin, where he will spend the holidays. Mr T. D. Webster, who has been on a holiday visit to Invercargill, returned to Dunedin by the express last evening. According to a Press Association cable from London Mr John W. Dulanty has been appointed High Commissioner for the Irish Free State in London. Mr and Mrs R. M. Strang left Invercargill yesterday on an extended motor tour of the Dominion and expect to be away from the city about four weeks. A Press Association message from London states that Mr T. C. List, of New Plymouth, who was a delegate to the Empire Press Conference, is leaving for New Zealand on the Rangitata. A Press Association message from Wellington states that in the recent New Zealand University Law Professional Examinations, Mr L. G. de la Perrelle passed in the subject "Conveyancing” and Mr F. N. T. Watson in "Property” and “Evidence. ■ A pleasant little function took place at the annual break-up of the Roslyn Bush School on Friday afternoon when the dux of the school, John King, on behalf of tho pupils of Standard 6 presented the headmaster, Mr A. A. Cook, with a small gift as a token of their appreciation of his work with them in school and sport. The assistant teacher, Miss Green, was also the recipient of a gift which was presented to her by little Janet Calvert on behalf of the children of the junior division. The teachers thanked the children for their kind words and thoughtfulness.
