TECHNICAL EDUCATION
CONFERENCE LN NELSON,
UNIFICATION OF CONTROL.
(Per United Press Association.)
Nelson, December 10.
As arranged by the Minister of Education (the Hon. H. Atmore), Mr A. Bell, Assist-ant-Director of Education, and Mr W. Latrobe, Superintendent of Technical Education, are in Nelson for the purpose of conferring with representatives of the Nelson College and the Nelson Technical School Boards in regard to the proposed unfication of control.
The Minister, in a telegram, states: You know my aim is to have complete unification of control, towards which phase the conference should mark an important step and, if this can be brought about Nelson would be the first centre to come into line with the recommendation contained in the report. Technical education in Nelson must be placed on a sound footing and I believe that we can help the college to more adequately meet the demands of the times for a more comprehensive course.
