SERIOUS CLASH
BRITISH AND FOREIGNERS.
QUEENSLAND SUG.AR FIELDS.
(United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright) (Rec. 11 p.m.) Brisbane, December 1. A serious clash occurred in the vicinity of Tully between British and foreign nationals engaged on the sugar fields. Many were injured. The combatants are all cane workers, and sticks, stones, bottles, knives and pistols were used. George Norris has a wound in the chest lOin long, Harry Robertson has a knife stab in the back, an Italian has a bullet wound in the leg, an Italian woman is suffering from a wound in the head, and five other Italians were treated in hospital for cuts and abrasions.
The clash was the outcome of bad feeling due to the ever increasing influx ot foreigners.
