OPENING AT TOMOANA.
CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS. (Per United Press Association.) Hastings, October 21. The Royal Show opened this morning at the Hawkes Bay A. and P. Society’s beautiful grounds at Toraoana. The weather was threatening throughout the day, but the rain held off and prospects are for a fine day to-morrow when his Excellency, Lord Bledisloe, will officially open the show in the afternoon. There was an excellent attendance today and the following two days are expected to see record crowds. Stock in all classes is of a high quality and competition is very keen.
Following are the championships awards Sheep.
Lincoln ram champion and reserve: A. D. McMaster (Featherston) ; ewe champon and reserve: L. R. Wilton (Masterton).
