BIG BETTING RAID

TWO HUNDRED ARRESTS MADE.
(United Press Assn.— By Telegraph-CopyrighLJ (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, October 19. Disguised in tennis flannels and blazers, the police yesterday afternoon carried out one of the biggest'bettings raids in the history of the State at the Hotel Kensington close to Randwick racecourse. Two hundred men and women were arrested on the flat roof of the fourth storey. Twelve vans conveyed them to police headquarters and four hours were occupied in charging them with being found without lawful excuse on premises used for betting. Seven others were charged with using the premises for betting.
