RELIEF WORK

SOUTH HILLEND BUSH ROAD. GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY GRANTED. (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, September 24. The Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. P. A. de la Perrelle) stated to-day that the Minister of Public Works (the Hon. W. B. Taverner) has approved a grant of £450 as a subsidy of two pounds to one pound to the Southland County Council on the estimated cost of £675 for work on the South Hillend bush road. The work will be suitable for relief labour.
