COAL CARBONIZATION
PLANT FOR SOUTHLAND? MATTER RECEIVING CONSIDERATION. (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, September 24. The establishment of a coal carbonization plant in Southland may be realized some day, the Minister of Railways (the Hon. W. A. Veitch) said in the House of Representatives to-day. He said that he had received a number of requests for the establishment of such a plant and he did not see why it should not be a success. Nothing had been finalized, but the matter would be carefully considered.
