BRUTAL THUGS

GIRL KICKED AND TRODDEN ON. Melbourne, September 5. After a desperate struggle with two young men who waylaid her near the corner of Williams and Toorak Roads, South Yarra, last night, a woman was overpowered and her handbag, which contained about £7 in cash, and other articles worth £3, was stolen. She battled with one of her assailants for two minutes and only released her hold on her bag after he had thrown her to the roadway, kicked her in the side and stood on her arm.
