GOOD QUALITY IN DEMAND. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 9.40 p.m.) Sydney, September 18. At the wool sales the offerings amounted to 11,660 bales, 9,555 being sold and 1,906 disposed of privately. The market was very firm for stylish quality wools, competition for which continued keen from French, German, Japanese and to a lesser extent, from the Yorkshire and American section of buyers. Greasy Merino made to 17 id. AVERAGE PRICE FOR SEASON. (Rec. 9.40 p.m.) Sydney, September 18. A French wool buyer, Mr F. Bourgeois, who arrived in Sydney' to-day, said that while depression characterized every industry the prices of wool could hardly be expected to improve. However, the average rate for the season would be about that of last year.
