PUBLISHERS PROCEEDED AGAINST MAGISTRATE RESERVES DECISION (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, September 17. The issue of an unauthorized programme and sale of it to spectators at the Second Rugby Test match at Christchurch on July 5, was responsible for a civil action in the Magistrate’s Court to-day. The prosecutor was J. 0. McGillivray, secretary the Canterbury Rugby Union, ,and the' defendants Archibald Kennedy and Joseph James Mcldrum. It was alleged that they printed a document purporting to be a programme of a football match without an expressed permit. The programme was incomplete in that it did not contain the field numbers of players. .The defence was that the document was not a programme, but merely a souvenir. The Magistrate reserved his decision.
