HARMFUL POSTERS
ADVERTISING MOTION PICTURE FILMS. DRASTIC CENSORSHIP REGULATIONS. (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, September 2. It has frequently been remarked that while motion picture films are carefully censored, posters used in advertising them are not subjected to similar treatment with the result that the worst features of some pictures are placed before all sections of the community and a Ministerial statement bearing on this was made by the Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. P. A. de la Perrelle) in the House of Representatives today. "A great deal of anxiety has been expressed by the public regarding picture posters on hoardings of this and other cities,” said Mr Perrelle, “and I want to inform the House that it has been decided to have very drastic regulations brought down to have these posters censored.”
