STRIKE DECLARED OFF
SLAUGHTERMEN RESUME WORK. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 7.45 p.m.) Sydney, June 24. The slaughtermen’s strike has been declared off, the men agreeing to resume work on the 48-hour week basis. The union was unable to induce the employees in the retail trade to join the strike. It was also apparent that the employers had made adequate arrangements to keep the metropolitan area fully supplied with fresh meat.
