The number of unemployed in Christchurch Was reduced 100 the other day. The 50 for whom the Christchurch City Council is providin'* two months’ work started that morning, and the 50 additional men who are to go to the railway construction job at Parnassus were also selected then. Fifty more men will be placed on the Glyn Wye road shortly, but they have not been selected so far.
