NON-RETICULATED RATEPAYERS.

To the Editor.

Sir, —In your report of the Power Board meeting the chairman made the statement that the non-reticulated ratepayers contribute less than £3OOO towards the rates. Surely when the amount is so small the board should have no difficulty in spreading that amount over the 8814 consumers that are receiving the benefits of' electricity and so relieve those who receive no benefits from the unjust rate they have to payv The City Council is to be congratulated on shouldering an extra £3,600 of the board’s responsibilities, surely the country consumers could shoulder the £3,000 taken from their less fortunate neighbours.—l am, etc.,

NON-RETICULATED RATEPAYER.
