WORKS NOT TO BE SOLD.

Dunedin, May 16
The City Council has received official advice that its proposals regarding the sale of the Waippri Power Works to the Government are not acceptable to the latter and the lengthy negotiations have ended. The council will now proceed with its original proposals to get authority for an additional station lower down the river.
