Miss E. S. Haldane, sister of the late Lord Haldane, has given nearly half toward the £35,000 needed for the erection of a new public library at Hendon. In 1928, 70,000 boxes of opnges were exported from Brazil to Europe, as compared with 40,000 in 1927 and 10,000 in 19*26. In the first four months of 1929 more than 68,000 boxes were exported.
