INTERESTING RULING

PLUMBING REGULATIONS. (Per United Press Association.) New Plymouth, December 5. An unregistered plumbing contractor is entitled to employ a registered plumber to do sanitary plumbing work even though the employer himself is not a registered pluber. This ruling was given by Mr Justice MacGregor to-day when dismissing an appeal by the Health Department against the decision of Mr R. W. Tate Sim.

The Magistrate had held that Sydney George, an unregistered plumber, had not committed an offence against the Act or regulations when he employed a registered plumber to do sanitary plumbing. The Department argued that the employer of men who actually did the work must be registered.
