Four rinks from the Riverton Bowling Club journeyed to Otautau on Wednesday to play the fixture match with the local club. The green was in good order, but slight showers annoyed the players at times. The visitors recorded a substantial win, and at the conclusion of the match Mr Stevens thanked the local team for their hospitality and pleasant game. The green was one of the best and the surroundings were excellent. They had certainly had a certain amount of luck with them. In reply Mr J. Thomson (president) thanked the member of the Riverton Club for the enjoyable game and congratulated them on their win. They were too experienced bowlers and carried too many guns for them. The speaker said that although each side played to win, it was the spirit in which the game was played that counted most. The speaker concluded by wishing the Riverton Club a

successful season. Following are the scores:— 0. R. Roberts, McCulloch, Sinclair, Porteous (s) 16 — Stevens, Alf Evans, Webb, Instone (s) 24 Lumsden, Chandler, J.
