HEDGEHOPE NOTES

(From Our Correspondent.) The Hedgehope Presbyterian Church held its annual social evening on Wednesday last, presided over by the Moderator, the Rev. Mills. Schreuder’s party provided the evening’s entertainment, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The hall was well filled by an appreciative audience, all items being heartily encored. During the evening the balance-sheet was read and adopted. It was pleasing to note that this showed a decided increase over last year’s returns. Miss C. McDonald read a report on the work of the Hedgehope Sunday School, Miss M. McDonald on the Senior Bible Class, Mr R. Evans on the Junior Bible Class, Mr Hetherington on the Glencoe and Springhills Sunday schools and Springhills Bible Class, and Mr J. Campbell on the Mabel Bush Bible Class and Sunday School. Each of these remarked on the keen interest of the members of the various classes. The Revs. Gardiner, Fisher, and Mills each gave short addresses, expressing themselves as more than satisfied with the work of the parish.
