STILL UNSETTLED
AUSTRALIAN COAL DISPUTE. (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Canberra, November 24. The coal deadlock is still unsettled. Yesterday’s conference of parties has adjourned till Wednesday. Meanwhile, the miners’ representatives will report the proposals discussed to their executives on Tuesday. Mr Scullin announced that he is hopeful of a successful outcome. The parties are quite friendly. The New South Wales Government had agreed to abstain from reopening the Rothbury Colliery until after Wednesday. It is reliably reported that the miners' representatives are bringing pressure on the Federal Ministry to advance financial aid to miners in order to obviate the wage reduction.
