The Canterbury Shipping Company’s coastal steamer Cahn arrived at Bluff early on Saturday morning from Lyttelton to discharge 250 tons of cargo including 12 motor cars. She afterwards loaded 350 tons for way ports, included in which were 400 bales of hemp, 700 sacks of seed and a quantity of general merchandise. She left at 7 p.m. the same day for Dunedin. The Awarua sailed from Bluff for Halfmoon Bay at 1.15 p.m. on Saturday. She loaded a large quantity of general merchandise and took 30 passengers and mails.

The oil tanker Paua arrived at Bluff from Lyttelton yesterday morning with a full cargo of bulk oil for discharge. Following an outbreak of fire aboard the steamer Westerdijk when the vessel was en route from- Rotterdam to Australia, a general average of 3 per cent, has been declared on the cargo, which includes transhipments for New Zealand.

Cabled advice has been received by the Union Company that the chartered tanker British Glory arrived at San Pedro on November 16, and left again on November 17 for Wellington. She is bringing a full cargo of fuel oil for discharge into the company’s tanks at Miramar, and is due at Wellington on December 12. Cabled adviee received by the Union Company states that the new cargo steamer Kaimiro, from Birkenhead, left Colon on November 17 for Wellington. She is due.at the northern port about the middle of December.

It is stated that the sister ship to the North German Lloyd liner Bremen, the Europa, which was severely damaged; by fire last March, will probably make her maiden voyage in February next. It is reported that it is possible that she may develop a speed even greater than that of the Bremen. The Bremen is to undergo constructional alterations, as the speed attained has been accompanied by vibration. How long this work will take is not stated, but the ship will no doubt be ready for /the summer season. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line advises that the steamer Valacia is scheduled to load at New York during the second, half of December for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The Adelaide Steam Ship Company’s (Ltd.) steamer Milluna arrived at Lyttelton on Wednesday morning from Nauru Island with a load of phosphate to discharge. The vessel was previously known as the Franziska, ex Mabel, ex Mabel Rickmen. She is a vessel of 5681 gross tons, 402 ft. in length, 53.2 ft. width, and 27.4 ft. depth, and,is registered in Melbourne. The Milluna is expected at Port Chalmers early next week to complete discharge. MANUKA ARRIVES. The Union Company’s intercolonial passenger steamer Manuka arrived at Bluff shortly after mid-day yesterday from Melbourne, carrying a small amount of cargo and 125 bags of mails. In addition the vessel brought 250. passengers and Wirths’ Circus. To-day she sails for Dunedin, Lyt telton, Wellington and thence Melbourne. MANUKA’S PASSENGERS. The Shaw, Savill and Albion liner lonic arrived at Bluff yesterday morning from London and Southampton, via Panama, Wellington, Lyttelton and' Port Chalmers. This is the lonic’s first voyage as a cabinclass ship, and a large number of passengers travelled out in that class to their entire satisfaction. Captain W. Lloyd is in command of the lonic and his officers are the following:— Chief, Mr. J. Jenkins; first, Mr. R. Stevens; second, Mr. S. S. Fieldwood; third, Mr. F. Kean; fourth, Mr. V.
