The Calm from Lyttelton is expected to berth at Bluff early this morning and after discharging and loading general cargo, will proceed this evening to Dunedin. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s vessel lonic which is scheduled to leave Port Chalmers at mid-day to-day for Bluff, is expected to berth here at 9 a.m. to-morrow. She will be in port until Thursday when she will then sail for Wellington. Cable advice received by the Union Company states that the Manuka left Melbourne at 11 a.m. on Wednesday for New Zealand with passengers, mails and cargo. She is due at Bluff to-morrow morning and will sail on Monday for Dunedin, Lyttelton, Wellington and Melbourne. The Manuka’s cargo this trip includes transhipments ex the Tallyrand, Cariguana, Nerbudda, Quiloa, Tancred Garmuda, and Nohata. The Matakana is to leave London on January 7 with cargo for Australia, and will load for Home in New Zealand during March in place of the Mataroa. Cargo discharged from the Marama at Wellington this week included transhipments from the following vessels: Changte, Talleyrand, Westerdyk, Aki Maru, Moncaleiri, Naldera, Orford, Themistocles, St. Albans, Nieuw Holland, Quiloa, Orungal, Kowarra, Canberra, Mungana. The Union Company’s freighter Karetu which arrived at Bluff late on Thursday night, sailed last evening for Hobart direct. She discharged 70 tons of general cargo and loaded 250,000 ft. timber and general cargo for Hobart. The Kurow which is due to sail to-day, is taking in about 1500 tons cargo for northern ports including 8000 bags of oats for Auckland. The Awarua arrived from Halfmoon Bay at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. She had 12 passengers for Bluff and a quantity of fish. She leaves again at 3 p.m. to-day. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE.
