GOLF CARNIVAL
FINAL SESSION TO-NIGHT.
Victoria Hall, where the Golf Carnival is being held, was again a gay scene last night when there was another large attendance of the public.
Business at the various stalls and sideshows was brisk, which fact afforded much gratification to the committee. A monster jumble sale and the baking and sweet-mak-ing competitions will take place this afternoon, while there is sure to be a large rally of golfers and wellwishers at the carnival to-night. There is still a very large quantity of valuable and useful goods which will have to be sacrificed.
Last evening, the Caledonian Pipe Band was in attendance and a most interesting programme of national dances was staged by the Southland School of Highland and. Classic Dancing. The winners of the various competitions were as follows:—Feather duster, Mr W. Smith; brown cushion, Mrs Giles; tray cloth, Mrs A. C. Ford; cigarette box, Miss Watson; garters, Mrs Giles; silk' stockings, Mr Masters; green cover, Mr W. Smith; grey cushion, “Kitty May”; dressed fowl, Mr J. Hunter; tray cloth, Miss E. King; bridge pencils, “Josephine.”
