SALE OF WORK

GORE METHODISTS. A sale of work organized by the Gore Methodist Church for the purpose of raising funds towards the cost of its new Sunday School was officially opened by the Mayor, Mr D. L. Poppelwell, in the Town Hall last evening.

In expressing the hope that the sale would be a successful one, the Mayor stated that the up-to-date buildings erected by the various church organizations were an asset to the town and their efforts in this direction deserved the support of the whole community. He hoped that those present would spend freely and that the financial results would be satisfactory. After the sale was opened, the stall-hold-ers were put to work and were kept busily employed the whole evening. .. Those in charge of the competitions also had a busy time attending to the wants of patrons. Very satisfactory takings were realized for the first evening, and it is anticipated that the heavily laden stalls and the many competitions will make a popular appeal when the sale is open this afternoon and evening.
