Mr Philip Snowden announced at the Labour Conference that he was considering appointing a committee to consider the relationship between the banking industry and the Board of Trade. The Treasury was making an investigation of the Hatry affair, and he would not hesitate to strengthen or amend the present company law to give greater security to the general investor if it were necessary.—Australian Press Association-United Service.
