Mr A. Simson, ex-Mayor of Queenstown, is at present on a visit to Invercargill. The Postal Department announces that Mr A. V. Robertshaw, cadet, in charge _ at Naseby, has been transferred to a similar position at Ohai. A Wellington telegram states: Messrs A. H. Fear and P. H. Sykes, who both received their secondary education in the Wairarapa, have been recommended by the Victoria College Professorial Board for Rhodes Scholarships. The Methohdist Times states that the Rev. 11. L. Blamires, of Stratford, intends to become a supernumerary at next conference, and will five in Merivale. He is suffering from increased strain, the result mainly of his long and strenuous war experience. It is stated that he was the only Methodist chaplain who saw service in both Gallipoli and France. Mr F. Darnill, who for the last nine years has been in the employ of Messrs George Poole and Sons, Ltd., and who has been transferred to Gore, was met by members of the staff last evening and presented with a solid leather suitcase and a set of military hair brushes. Mr Greig, in making the presentation, referred to Mr Darnill’s many fine qualities and wished him every success in his new position.
