BIAS BAY PIRATES

ATTACK ON JAPANESE STEAMER

■ OFFICERS OVERPOWERED (United Press Assn. —By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Hong Kong, September 21. After no signs of activity for a year the Bias Bay pirates, led by a woman, aged 21 and speaking English, attacked the Japanese steamer Deli Maru between Amoy and Hong Kong. Three Indian guards were wounded when the pirates shot without warning. The officers were overpowered without resistance.

The only booty was £2OOO in money and jewellery taken from the passengers. This is the first Japanese ship ever attacked by the Bias Bay gang. —Australian Press Association.
