Mr P. Gilfedder leaves by this morning’s express for Wellington, where he will attend a sitting of the Appeal Court commencing on Tuesday.
The appointment of Mr F. C. Lopdell, assistant master at the Southland Technical College, as vice-principal of the Auckland Training College, has been approved by the Education Department. Mr and Mrs R. W. McCreath, who left Gore some weeks ago on a brief holiday to Honolulu, returned to the Dominion the other day. Mr and Mrs McCreath expect to reach Gore on Saturday week. At yesterday’s meeting of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board, Mr David Jones, M.P., was unanimously re-elected chairman of the board for the ensuing 12 months.—Wellington Press Association message.
Major O. M. Mead, D. 5.0., who has been through a course at the Staff College, Camberley, and who was afterwards attached for training, arrived in Wellington by the Tamaroa. He is to take up the position of staff officer in charge of No. 11 Regimental District, Dunedin.
