EASTERN DISTRICT FIXTURES.
TO-DAY’S MATCHES.
To-day’s Rugby games in the Eastern District will mark the start of a one round first grade competition. At Mataura the local team will meet Albion, Pioneer winning from Seaward Downs by default. The third grade match bgetween Pioneer and High School will also be worth witnessing. The other fixtures to be decided are as follows: —Mataura v. Pioneer II at Gore; Mataura v. Wyndham 111 at Mataura; Pukerau v. Wyndham II at Wyndham; Pioneer IV v. Wyndham High School at Wyndham; High School IV A v. High School IV B at Gore. The cup presented by the Eastern Southland Sub-Union for the second competition between the first grade Rugby football teams in the Eastern District is now in view in Mr. G. C. Hamilton’s window. The following will represent the various clubs First Grade. Albion: Stevenson, Ritchie, Valentine, Columb, Townsend, Wallis, Ussher, Corcoran, Ritchie, Sims, Greenfield, Millar, McMillan, Fleming, Taylor, Hoffman, McEwan, Keown and Robertson. Second Grade. Pioneer: Kubala, Cowie, Forbes, Thomson, Ferris, Broome, Currie, Hill, Sexton, Giles, Johnston, Mair, Davidson, Baldwin and Paulin. Third Grade. Pioneer: Briggs, Mair, Scott, Cooper, Ward, A., Crawford, W., Crawford, A., Bowmar, C., Tutty, Kerr, O’Shea, Cowie, Green, Shave and Stark. Wyndham: McGrouther, Harley, McKenzie, Richardson, McDonald, Traynor, Crosbie, Williamson, Herbert, McKay, Pleath, Vaile, Matheson, McKay, Sherborne (captain). Emergencies; W. Crighton, Crosbie (forward). Fourth Grade. Pioneer: Carter, O’Neill, Bishop, Robertson, Jenkins, Phillips, Casey, Gerken, Crawford, Falconer, King, Ward, Ritchie, Columb and Mackie. Emergency: McKinlay.
