Among the many points dealt with in the last report of the Liverpool Steamship Association is the extraordinary degree of safety which modern shipping has now secured for passengers. It is stated that in the British mercantile marine during the years 1924-1927 the total number of passengers’ lives lost by wrecks and casualties was 11.
