Waihemo, Dunedin, January 18. GENERAL NOTES. The Calm from the usual nothern ports, [is expected to arrive at Bluff on Wednesday

to discharge and toad geenral cargo for the return voyage. The 'Kaitangata is to sail from Port Chalmers on Monday for Bluff to load timber for Adelaide via Greymouth. The Karetu is expected to leave Sydney on Tuesday for Dunedin, Lytelton and Bluff, being due here early next month and sailing afterwards for Sydney direct. The Kartigi is expected to arrive at Bluff on Wednesday next to load cargo for Hobart and Melbourne.

The Waipiata from Auckland, Wellington, Lytelton and Dunedin, Is due at Bluff on Thursday next to load general cargo for Wellington and Auckland via ports. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor ship Port Dunedin is expected to sail from Port Chalmers on Tuesday for Bluff, being due here oh Wednesday to load 20,000 freight carcases of meat, 9,000 crates of cheese and a quantity of general merchandise... Upon completing about three days later the Port Dunedin will sail for Timaru, Lyttelton and Welington, clearing Wellington early next month for Home.

The Commonwealth and Dominion Line’s motor ship Port Gisborne was to leave Auckland yesterday for Wellington, thence Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete her discharge of New York cargo. Later the vessel loads at Port Chalmers, Bluff, Lyttelton, New Plymouth, Wanganui, Wellington, Napier, Gisborne and Auckland. She is scheduled to leave Auckland finally on August 24 for New York, Boston and London, via Panama. The Federal steamer Cumberland arrived off Timaru on Thursday morning from Lyttelton but was unable to enter the port owing to heavy seas. The vessel which is carrying general merchandise from Glasgow and Liverpool, Is now due at Port Chalmers on Tuesday to continue discharge. Upon completing operations there tho vessel will proceed to Bluff, being due here towards the end of the week. WAIHEMO COMING. The local agents advise that the Waihemo is to leave Lyttelton to-day for Dunedin and Bluff, being due here on Thursday to discharge cargo loaded at Pacific Coast, ports. The vessel has for discharge at Bluff some 1600 tons of general cargo including 1240 tons of gasoline and kerosene, and 140,000 feet of timber. From this port the Waihemo proceeds to New Plymouth. PAUA ARRIVES. The oil tanker Paua arrived at Bluff early yesterday morning from Lyttelton and Dunedin with bulk oil for discharge. She should complete to-day sailing for the north again. She is loading 1400 cases of oil for northern ports and discharging a part cargo of bulk oil. TELEGRAPHED REPORTS. COASTAL AND OVERSEAS.
