COMMUNISTS RAIDED

ACTIVITIES OF PARIS POLICE. IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS SEIZED. (Rec. 9.40 p.m.) London, July 19. The Paris correspondent of 'The Times states that reports from Communists serving in the French Army were amongst the documents seized when 50 police raided the offices of Humanite, the official organ of the Communist Party.

The police also raided the headquarters of Communist youths, when several were arrested. Humanite was advocating at lengths the holding of an anti-militarist demonstration on August 1, the anniversary of the outbreak of the war. The raid is said to have revealed the existence of complete plans for this purpose. Other documents contained reports of naval and military armaments, giving evidence of the existence of an elaborate system of espionage.—Times Cable.
