SENTENCE RESCINDED
FLNE INSTEAD OF GAOL.
INTOXICATED DRIVER.

Christchurch, June 6.
After rehearing the case of Thomas Mercer, a land salesman, sentenced on Tuesday to fourteen days’ hard labour for being intoxicated in charge of a motor car, the Magistrate, Mr Levvey, imposed a fine of £25 and his license was cancelled for two years, rescinding the previous sentence.
