BALCLUTHA RESIDENT’S IMPRESSIONS. All too seldom do we hear what visitors from other provinces think of us and have to say about us. May Fair 1929 attracted many northern visitors to Invercargill and now that all the bustle and excitement is over comes a letter to the Progressive Stores which is only , one of many expressing complete satisfaction with the service received: North Balclutha, May 31, 1929. Messrs H. and J. Smith’s, Ltd., . Invercargill. Dear Sir, — After receiving your book some time ago, I wanted to visit Invercargill and my chance came when the excursion train left here for your “May Fair.” Needless to say I came home laden with parcels from your wonderful store and I intend to pay another visit next May, as it is a real delight to wander around choosing this and that at your leisure and there is such a saving on everything—it’s just a feast of bargains. A cow owned by Mr George Key, of Water Lane Farm; Stoney Houghton, Derbyshire, has given birth to triplets. The three calves and the cow are all doing exceedingly welL
