MAY FAIR COMPETITION CORRECT PLACING ANNOUNCED. H AND J. SMITH’S £2OO BARGAIN COMPETITION. A ceremony of interest to many thousands of people in Southland and Otago occurred yesterday in the Progressive Stores, when his Worship the Mayor (Mr J. D. Campbell) opened the sealed envelope containing the correct placing of the items in the Bargain Competition organized by H. and J. Smith, Ltd., in connection with their May Fair Celebrations. His Worship Announced the correct placings as follows: First “H,” second “C,” third “F,” fourth "G,” fifth “D,” sixth "E.” Great interest was taken in the Competition, many thousands of entries being received from Otago and Southland. A special staff is now engaged in checking the entries arid the list of winners will be published in a few days. Mr J. W. Smith, Managing Director, announced that another Bargain-Budget is now being prepared, which will contain full particulars, and also the entry coupon to another great Bargain Competition.—Advt.
