BLUFF NOTES

METHODIST CHURCH. JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS. To commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the Bluff Methodist church a concert was held in the church last evening. The function was also the first step in an effort to raise funds for the building of a new church to meet the growing needs of the congregation. The concert was well patronized, practically every seat being occupied. The Rev. Moses Ayrton presided. During the evening the circuit steward (Mr. G. R. George) reported on the activities of the church of the past year. The Rev. 8. Waddell (Presbyterian Minister) and the Rev. W. W. Ewart (Anglican Minister! were present and conveyed congratulatory messages to the Methodist fraternity from'their respective congregations, wishing them even a fuller measure of prosperity in the future. , The Leet Street Methodist choir, of Invercargill, was present and under the baton of Mr J. E. Taylor, rendered part songs and antheme, providing a musical treat for those present.
