MAD BULL DRAMA

A BOY TO THE RESCUE. Plucky behaviour by a 16-year-old boy, Ernest Graves, saved from certain death recently his employer, Mr R. G. Lawrence, farmer, of Ringwould, near Deal. Mr Lawrence, attacked by an infuriated bull, was seriously injured and was taken to hospital in a precarious condition. Hearing the bull smashing down the yard gates, Mr Lawrence entered the paddock and attempted to pacify the animal. Becoming more infuriated, the bull charged its owner in the back, throwing him unconscious to the ground. Snorting, and with its head lowered, it stood over the fallen farmer, waiting to gore him to.death on the least movement. Graves, hearing the commotion, and seeing his master lying apparently dead, leaped the fence, and with the first weapon to hand drove the animal off.
