THE PRIME MINISTER

ARRIVAL AT NAPIER

(Per United Press Association.) Napier, May 8. Sir Joseph Ward arrived in Napier this evening for the purpose of performing the ceremony to-morrow of laying the foundation stone of the new Post Office. The Premier is accompanied by the Post-master-General (the Hon. J. B. Donald). To night they were entertained at the Masonic Hotel by a number of leading citizens. The Mayor (Mr C. J. Vigor Brown) presiding. Mr A. E. dull proposed the toast of the Premier, whose reply expressed his (Sir Joseph Ward’s) confidence in the future prosperity of the country. He claimed that the Government had accomplished a great deal during its five months in office and even if no further progress was made, at the end of the term it could look back with pride on its record.
