CARS COLLIDE

A BAD SMASH SIX YOUNG MEN INJURED ONE ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL (Ter United Press Association.) Auckland, April 23. At Otahuhu early to night, a motor-car containing five young men collided with another car, ran into a telegraph post and then turned over on its side. D. Black, aged 19, one of the occupants, sustained injuries to his hip and head and was admitted to the Auckland hospital. His condition was later stated to be fairly serious. L. B. Cameron, aged 21, sustained a severe cut on the cheek necessitating several stitches. V. Fookes, aged 23, sustained injuries to his mouth and lost several teeth. H. B. Winfield, aged 23, sustained injuries to his back. D. H. Wallace, aged 21, the driver of the car, escaped practically unhurt. All in this car are. bank clerks in Auckland. The car was badly damaged. J. Crowhurst, driver and sole occupant of the other car, was badly shaken. His car escaped lightly.
