PLUNKET AND REST ROOM COM-

MUTEE.

A meeting of the Plunket and Rest Room Committee was held on Tuesday. Present: Messrs A. T. Ross (in the chair), C. E. Davey (hon sec.), H. Hunter, W. O. C. McKay, G. C. Kerse, Mesdames P. J. de la mare, Alexander Ross, T. M. Strang, A. Wilson Senr., C. E. Davey, H. Hunter and W. O. C. McKay. An apology for absence was received from Mrs A. T. Ross.

The principal business of the meeting was the consideration of plans and specifications for the proposed rooms. After considerable discussion it was moved by Mrs Strang that the committee continue to raise money until it has £3OO in sight (either in hand or guaranteed), seconded by Mrs de la Mare and carried.—Mrs Strang also moved that the building be in brick, with two rooms similar to the plan before the meeting.— Seconded by Mrs de la Mare and carried. Mrs Ross moved that a deputation consisting of Mrs Strang, Mrs de la Mare, Mrs

Hunter and the mover, await upon the Wyndham Trotting Club, the Wyndham Racing Club and other local institutions, asking for their sympathy and support. — Seconded by Mr Kerse. —Carried. Mr A. T. Ross reported that Mr David Townley has generously offered to lend his barn equipped with electric light, etc. for bam dances. The matter to be left in the hands of the chairman to make arrangements.

Mr Davey reported that Mr William Aim had offered to become one of three or four guarantors if required for any balance required. It was resolved that the Plunket Society have the use of the small shop on the section, free of charge.

Golf. On Wednesday afternoon the Wyndham Golf (Sub. played a teams’ match, President v. Captain. The fairways are slowly improving, and in a short time should be in tip-top order, while, the greens at present are in excellent playing condition. The match was played under good weather conditions and at the close of the afternoon’s play the captain’s team proved to be the winners by 8 games to 7, with one game all square.
