STEP TAKEN BY MINISTER.

Auckland, April 29.

The Hon. P. A. de la Perrelle, Minister of Internal Affairs, after conferring with the local Members of Parliament, agreed to telegraph the Minister of Public Works urging him to procure work for at least 500 unemployed in the country districts. Mr Perrelle said that it was hoped that the men would be started in employment almost 'immediately.
