ABOUT PEOPLE

MINISTERIAL. The Hon. D. If. Drummond, Minister of Education in New South Wales, accompanied by his wife, arrived in Invercargill by motor car last evening. Mr and Mrs Drummond visited several schools in the Eastern District after their arrival from Queenstown yesterday afternoon. Mr Drummond will visit the Borstal this morning and, if time permits, will make a tour of the town schools. Mr and Mrs Drummond will leave for the north by the express this afternoon.

Mr W. Cunningham returned to Invercargill by the express last evening. Mr C. J. Brodrick was a passenger for Christchurch by the express last evening.

Mr John I. Royds, who has been in Invercargill on business, returned to Christchurch by the express last evening.

Dr A. Kidd, medical superintendent of the Waipiata Sanatorium, arrived in Invercargill by the express last evening on his monthly visit. Mr D. Ardell, of the Department of Internal Affairs, who is accompanying the Hon. D. 11. Drummond on his New Zealand tour, is a guest at the Grand Hotel.

Mr J. S. Dick, secretary of the Southland League, who is attending the conference of Progress Leagues at Blenheim as the Southland League delegate, left by the express last evening.
