BROWNS PIPE BAND

ANNUAL MEETING. (From Our Correspondent.) The Browns Pipe Band held its annual meeting on Friday evening, December 14 and the balance-sheet showed a very satisfactory state of affaire. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows: President, Mr Donald Mcßae; Miss Enid King, secretary; Mr M. Watson, treasurer; Mr A. Hamilton, auditor; Mr R. White, drum-major; Mr H. Gilmour, pipe-major; Mr M. Watson, sergeant; Mr D. Stuart, corporal. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the retiring president, Mr A. Birss. After the business meeting a social and dance was held a pleasant time being enjoyed by all. Throughout the evening songs were sung by Miss Norma King and Messrs A. Clark and A. D. Brown, Miss Enid King and Miss A. McMaster acting as accompanists. Music for the dancing was discoursed by Miss A. McMaster (piano) and Mr J. McMaster (violin), Messrs M. Watson, D. Robinson and H. Gilmour (bagpipes). Extras were played by Miss Enid King and Mr George. Mr R. White carried out the duties of M.C. in an efficient manner.
