HIGH SCHOOLS MATCH. PALMERSTON v. NAPIER. (Per United Press Association.) Napier, December 17. The first elevens of the Napier and Palmerston High Schools commenced their annual match in Napier to-day. The home team opened but were dismissed for 50, McHaffie taking five for eight in seven and a-half overs, two of which were maidens, and Cutler four for eleven. Palmerston’s innings opened sensationally, the first three wickets falling without a run being scored and the fourth went down with only one on the board. Then McHaffie and Henderson stopped the rot with a partnership that added 136, the former getting 89 and the latter 44. The visitors’ innings closed for 177. Reaney took seven for 48. At stumps, Napier had lost one for 85. NELSON COLLEGE v. NEW PLYMOUTH HIGH SCHOOL. New Plymouth, December 17. The annual match between Nelson College and New Plymouth High School opened today in fine weather. Nelson were dismissed for 45 runs in the first innings, School making 109. In the second innings Nelson reached 113 for six (Hooper making 50), when stumps were drawn. TEAMS FOR TO-MORROW. The following team will represent Waikiwi v.
